What we did

• •We first reviewed the inherited React Native codebase to understand its structure and identify the areas that made development and maintenance difficult. We refactored the most troublesome sections, followed established patterns and conventions where they remained useful, and resolved outstanding bugs so new work could move forward on a stronger foundation.
• •We redesigned the app’s visual system in Figma, including its color palette and the layout of major screens such as the home page. We then implemented those designs and a guided discovery flow that helped customers browse nearby trips and narrow their choices by price, location, and available accommodations.
• •We completed the core marketplace workflows for captains and customers. Captains could create detailed listings, publish multiple trips, and make a trip repeat on a set schedule. Customers could browse options, book tickets, pay through Stripe, cancel when needed, receive refunds for canceled trips, and leave reviews.
• •We connected the mobile experience to AWS services for user authentication, data management, and file storage. We also provided management tools that let the client maintain the app without finding outside help for routine changes. With the redesigned screens and remaining features in place, the project reached a functioning iOS release with a smoother, more intuitive experience.
